In honor of Armed Forces Week, Crunkleton & Associates would like to take the opportunity to sincerely say “Thank You” to all our brave service men and women. We genuinely appreciate the sacrifices you and your families have made to safeguard our freedom. Here are some great events happening around our area in recognition of Armed Forces Week for everyone to enjoy:

Tuesday, August 5 & Wednesday, August 6 at 7pm

The U.S. Army Soldier Show in the Von Braun Center Concert Hall. Tickets for both shows are no longer available. Doors of the VBC Concert Hall will open 10 minutes prior to show time.  If there are available seats at this time we will let people in without a ticket.

Wednesday, August 6 at 12pm

Armed Forces Celebration Luncheon featuring AMC’s Gen. Dennis Via in the Von Braun North Hall. Registration is required. Call 256-535-2031

Thursday, August 7 at 10am

Purple Heart Day Awards program at the Huntsville/Madison County Veterans Memorial. The community is invited.

Friday, August 8

8 am “Iron Mike Golf Tournament” by AUSA Redstone at The Links at Redstone Course on Redstone Arsenal. For more information/registration call 256-783-4126.

5 pm-9pm Armed Forces Celebration Softball Games at the Huntsville Metro Kiwanis Sportsplex Field #2 at 3590 Patton Road. There is no charge to attend.

Saturday, Aug. 9 at 10am

F16 Red Tail Dedication at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Aviation Challenge to honor the legacy squadron. This event is open to the public.

 

Here is a list of area attractions offering free admission to military & their families:

  • Huntsville Museum of Art- free admission for military ID card holders and their immediate family
  • U.S. Space and Rocket Center- free admission for all active duty & retired military and their immediate family
  • Burritt on the Mountain- free admission for military ID card holders and their dependents August 5th-9th
  • EarlyWorks Museum Complex- free admission for military ID card holders and their immediate family
  • Sci-Quest, Hands-on Science Center- free admission for military ID card holders and their immediate family
  • Huntsville Botanical Garden- free admission for military ID card holders and their immediate family
  • Heart of the Valley YMCA- free daily access for all military ID card holders and their immediate family

We hope you have an opportunity to get out and show our military men and women how much we appreciate them and enjoy some of these great events!
