Get Excited Huntsville Because Southern Sensation South Boutique Is Coming To Jones Valley!

Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 9.55.39 AM

It’s hard to believe that in just 3 short years Anna Spruiell has gone from opening her very first boutique in Trussville Alabama to becoming an international southern boutique sensation.

After graduating from the University of Alabama in 2009, Anna spent some time in Charleston, South Carolina, working in a boutique. When the boutique became available for sale she considered buying it, but decided to move back home to Trussville instead. But the boutique had sparked an idea in her.

Screen_Shot_2013-09-01_at_11.49.14_AM_grande“I knew I could run a store,” said Anna. “But I wanted to do it on my own, and not work for someone else. I decided to open a place that represented where I was from and the culture I grew up with. The southern influence is very important to me.”

So it’s no surprise that when searching for a name Anna settled simply on “South”. “I just put “Boutique on it so people will know what we are,” She said. “The southern influence is very important to me and a crucial part of the store.

“We try to carry things that are new to Alabama in order to give our customers something interesting and different that they can’t find anywhere else,” said Anna.

And so far that formula has been working out quite well for her.

“Within the first month, I had paid back everything I had taken out [to open the first store] and already made a profit,” she said. More than that, once the store was fully up and running they began selling out of things within 24hrs.

The store quickly outgrew its 1,000 SF space in Trussville and opened a second boutique in Birmingham complete with a warehouse space to support their growing all their online business, and a photo studio that allows them to utilize instagram to share their newest finds, something Anna credits much of her business success to. “If we didn’t have Instagram, we wouldn’t be in business.” With over 13,500 followers from around the world, South boutique has certainly managed to harness the power of the photo-based social media platform.

And now for their third addition to the South family, the boutique has decided on Huntsville, Alabama!

“We have always been interested in the Rocket City and the jobs it brings to Alabama,” said Anna. “And when a location in Jones Valley became available, we jumped on it because we knew that it would be a great fit for South.” She went on to say, “The area grabbed our attention with it’s close knit community feel. We immediately knew we were home when we arrived, and that is the same feeling we want our customers to have when they walk in the door of South.”

12661840_964141340288846_783186399783145927_nCarrying a wide variety of items from rompers and dresses to jewelry and totes, South Boutique carries something for every budget and women of every age. The store also has a selection of fashionable college game day wear for loyal Alabama and Auburn fans, and their own custom line of candles with southern inspired scents like: Gunpowder, Antebellum and Sweet Tea.

And to ensure a selection their customers won’t find anywhere else, Anna and her team make frequent buying trips to Las Vegas, Atlanta and New York to keep their selection fresh and up to date.

The store is scheduled to open March 10th, with a large grand opening party planned to celebrate. “We are so excited about adding Huntsville to the South family! We have been very blessed with such wonderful customers and can’t wait to meet many new faces!”

South Boutique will be located in the Legacy Marketplace shopping center at 2785 Carl T. Jones Drive, Huntsville AL 35802

Crunkleton & Associates is excited to announce that EVO Fitness will be joining Legacy Marketplace in Jones Valley!

Direct from Hollywood California, EVO Fitness offers the hottest fitness craze created by Sebastien Lagree, utilizing his patent-pending Megaformers. The studio incorporates strength training and cardio-intervals to maximize your workout.  Dubbed “Pilates on crack,” the workout combines the key elements of resistance and counter-resistance.  Clients are able to encourage maximum muscle exertion in an exhilarating, yet, low-impact environment.

According to EVO Fitness co-owner Stephanie Scarpa, “Physical fitness is more than being able to run a long distance or lift heavy weights at the gym; or how long you worked out or at what intensity. While these are important measures of fitness, they only address single areas. Where many workouts and exercise regimens work to integrate as many elements as possible, Lagree Fitness™ incorporates cardio, strength, endurance, body composition, and flexibility; not just in one session but in each and every MOVE.”

Stephanie and her brother/EVO Fitness co-owner Gregory Scarpa commented that they, “are excited that EVO Fitness is the first studio of it’s kind in Alabama. We truly believe in the effectiveness of this Hollywood based workout, and it’s our passion to change lives with it. From clients that are pregnant, overweight, recovering from surgery, have arthritis, or are training athletes, anyone has the ability to do this workout due to its low-impact style. We want to make bodies stronger everyday.”

The studio plans to host their grand opening April 4th from 11am-2pm. They will be offering refreshments, one-on-one conversations with all their staffed trainers and showcasing different exercises on the machines. In addition, they will be holding drawings and raffling off free sessions in addition to various other items.

Then starting the Monday after the grand opening, April 6th-12th, all classes will be FREE. Clients can sign up for these during the grand opening at the studio as well as on their website at: www.evofit-huntsville.com

2014 at Crunkleton & Associates: Our Year in Review

2014 has been a big year here at Crunkleton & Associates. Here are just a few of our proudest moments from 2014!

_2014_IN_REVIEW_IMAGE

Crunkleton & Associates Joins “The Avenue” Project Downtown

In June of 2014, Crunkleton & Associates announced their involvement with “The Avenue,” a five-story, mixed-use development that will feature 21,000 square feet of street-level restaurant and retail space downtown. In addition to the retail center, the project will also host 193 loft-style apartments and a large on-site parking garage.

Developer Charlie Sealy stated that he believes the project will be “another game-changer for downtown” and we completely agree!

The first phases of the project are scheduled to open in January 2016, and the entire project should be finished by that April.

Crunkleton & Associates Brings New Dining Options To Huntsville

One of our favorite things that we were able to do this year was help facilitate bringing several brand new dining options to Huntsville as part of the Twickenham Square project!

Asian Rim

This Birmingham-based restaurant specializing in Thai food, sushi, Pan-Asian infused cuisine and American fare announced that it would be joining the tenants at Twickenham Square in August and opened its doors for business on Dec. 5th.

Our favorite thing on the menu?  The sushi, hands down!

Cajun Steamer

From a small roadside stand where he dished up recipes he grew up eating in Louisiana, to his brand new 3,000 square foot restaurant here in Huntsville, owner Jeff Thompson has come a long way with his Birmingham-based eatery.

Cajun Steamer, which is scheduled to open in the next month, will feature classic Cajun cuisine such as gumbo, jambalaya, boudin and étouffée, oysters, crawfish and, of course, Po-boys.

Oh and did we mention homemade beignets!? We’re just a little excited about the beignets.

Taco Mama

Taco Mama added its third northern Alabama, and first Huntsville location to Twickenham Square in the fall of 2014, growing from its Mountain Brook and Tuscaloosa locations and the founders couldn’t be more excited. “To now be joining a community like Huntsville, that has boasted so much growth and positivity over the past decade, our team couldn’t ask for anything more,” commented Will Haver, Taco Mama Owner and Founder.

We love the laid back atmosphere and fast service that is perfect for a quick work lunch as well as the freshly prepared tacos, burritos, nachos and Mexican fare.

Chocolate Martini Bar

Chocolate lovers jumped for joy earlier this fall when we announced the fifth and final restaurant that would be joining the Twickenham Square development: Chocolate Martini Bar.

This swanky eatery will be dishing up a wide range of traditional and “liquid desserts” in addition to a full menu of savory items, each with their own unique chocolaty twist.

And while we’re excited about all the delicious chocolate fare, (I mean who doesn’t like chocolate?) it’s the free chair massages the restaurant plans to offer every Wednesday night to anyone who stops in that has us really excited for them to open their doors in the spring of this year!

Crunkleton & Associates Breaks Ground On Their New Offices!

One of the most exciting things for us here at Crunkleton & Associates this year was the ground breaking for our new offices on October 14th of 2014!

Over the last several years, we have been growing and expanding our roster of talented individuals in order to continually provide the best possible service to our clients. All that growth has been amazing for our business but tough on our personal space.

The new 18,000 square foot office complex we will be joining is part of a unique expansion project for legal firm Maynard Cooper & Gale in Huntsville, AL. The law firm will occupy the entire second floor of the building, and Crunkleton & Associates is excited to be sharing the first floor space with GW Jones Properties.

And the best part? Our new building is right across the street from where we are currently located. How’s that for a convenient move?

Crunkleton & Associates Completes Construction and Fully Leases Legacy Marketplace

Announced in early 2014, Crunkleton & Associates completed work on Legacy Marketplace earlier this year and is excited to announce that it has now fully leased the development. Among the tenants are:

  • Dunkin’ Donuts (This location marked the first Dunkin’ Donuts in southeast Huntsville!)
  • Radio Shack
  • Jimmy Johns
  • Legacy Nails
  • And one more mystery tenant that we will be announcing very soon!

Crunkleton & Associates Expands Valley Bend Shopping Center

2014 also brought us the opportunity to help facilitate the expansion of the Valley Bend shopping center in Jones Valley with addition of Kirkland’s and by creating a larger retail space for Fleet Feet Sports.

Crunkleton & Associates Brokers Two Major Land Deals

Crunkleton & Associates was proud to be a part of two major land deals this year.   One for the site of the new Walmart in Hazel Green and the other for the site of the New Veterans Facility.

Crunkleton & Associates Grows Property Management

This year Crunkleton & Associates surpassed the one million square foot mark for properties managed with the addition of three new properties!

Crunkleton & Associates Gives Back

Among out proudest moments in 2014 are the times when we were able to give back to the community by donating to non-profits or sponsoring community events.  Here are just a few of the organizations we were proud to support in 2014 and hope you may consider supporting in 2015.

  • The Huntsville Museum Of Art
  • Downtown Huntsville Inc.
  • The Autism Society of Alabama
  • The Huntsville Hospital Foundation
  • Second Mile Development
  • The Huntsville/Madison Boys and Girls Club
  • The Huntsville Fraternal Order of Police

Thanks For Helping Make 2014 Amazing!

We Can’t Wait To See Where 2015 Takes Us!
